When to weight a wheel
- Giveaways with bonus entries. Someone who subscribed and shared gets
*2; a top supporter gets*5. - Classroom participation. Lower the weight of students who answered recently so everyone gets a turn.
- Choosing what to eat or watch. Favor the options you’re most in the mood for without ruling out the rest.
The slice sizes on the wheel match the odds, so what you see is what you get.

Questions
How do weights work?
Each entry’s chance is its weight divided by the total of all weights. With A *3, B *1 and C *1, the total is 5, so A wins 60% of the time and B and C win 20% each.
Can I use decimals?
Yes. Late entry *0.5 gives half the odds of a normal entry.
Is a weighted spin still fair?
It is fair to the weights you set. The winner is drawn with a cryptographic random number generator in proportion to each weight, then the wheel animates to that slice.
